Unlike Portugal, Spain, Greece, Croatia and 30+ other countries, the UK has never introduced a digital nomad visa. There is no route designed specifically for location-independent remote workers. UK Home Office policy has been "you need a job offer or family tie".

Option 3: Skilled Worker visa (with sponsor)
- Cost: £719-1,420 visa + £1,035/year IHS
- Catch: need a UK employer willing to sponsor
- Salary floor: £38,700
- Reality: possible if your company has a UK entity; harder for pure remote freelancers
