Frequently Asked Questions

What's the fastest route to UK settlement?

5 years on most work or family visas, or 10 years of "long residence" on any legal visa combination. Global Talent and Innovator Founder can also lead to 3-year settlement.

Do I need a job offer for the Skilled Worker visa?

Yes — you need a confirmed job offer from a licensed UK sponsor, at the required skill level (RQF3+) and meeting the salary threshold (£38,700 general, lower for some shortage roles).

What is the Immigration Health Surcharge?

A one-time upfront payment giving access to the NHS. £1,035/year for most visas (£776/year for students), paid in full at application.

Can I bring my family on a UK work visa?

Most work visas allow dependants (partner + children under 18). From April 2024, Student visa holders can only bring dependants for PhD or government-sponsored programmes.
